I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve got spring fever. I got most of the garden tilled and cant wait to get the seed in the grown. But the wife keeps telling me that I need to hold off for a couple of more weeks.

The little lady is most likely right. Weather does make one want to start digging in the ground and putting in those little plants or seeds. But we could and probably will still get a freeze, not to mention several frosts before we are in the clear.

I have been working in the yard the last few days myself though. Blew all the leaves out of the landscape rock and dug them out along the lawn edging. Then ran the mower over the yard with the same setting as the last time I mowed last year. It picked up all the leaves and trash that had accumulated as well as clipping the tops of the grass that had grown up after the last mowing. Looks nice and green now. But a little later when I feel we are past a freeze I’ll mow it off a couple of setting lower for the spring.

So yes, these warm days do give one the urge to start working outside.

I can hardly wait to get out and play in the dirt. I have potatoes and onions waiting to go into the soil, but it was too wet to till the area. Maybe tomorrow. A good time to also plant spinach if anyone likes it fresh. It can be planted the March, and doesn’t mind the cold weather.

I too have Spring fever, and have even been dreaming about planting flowers and such. Seriously.

Inside for a break from garden and yard work. My potatoes are coming up as well as my onions. This is the time of year I divide and move things around in my flower and herb garden, plus do my weeding. Later today my raspberry bush goes in. I love this time of year!!
