Corrections officers used stun guns to subdue Saline County Jail inmates who became unruly in two unrelated incidents over the weekend.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday, inmate Tammy Dewhirst, 36, was being moved to another cell when she allegedly resisted and kicked deputy Paula Bergmeier in the stomach, Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said.
Bergmeier used a stun gun to subdue Dewhirst, Kochanowski said.
About 10 p.m. Sunday, inmate Larry Smith, age unknown, allegedly bit deputy Christopher Milleson on the hand while he was being moved to another cell. Milleson used a stun gun to subdue him, Kochanowski said.
