MARION — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has reopened the Cottonwood Point swimming beach at Marion Reservoir.
The most recent water samples have determined that E-Coli levels are back to acceptable levels.
The beach was closed for two weeks after routine water sampling revealed elevated levels of E-Coli. While E-Coli is naturally found in lake water, the Corps made the determination to close the beach to prevent any risk to public safety.
