Tragedies left in the dark usually reoccur, however this is not the place for the light to shine.

Generally when one reads comments posted regarding an obituary they are messages of condolence and sympathy to the family. I cannot believe that people are so curiously insensitive as to pose the question “what happened?” Isn’t it obvious? A family lost a beloved family member. Parents lost a young child. Since people are asking such an insensitive question I must presume they are in no way related to the grieving family. In that case I can only say that it is no one’s business what happened or how this beautiful child died. Show a little courtesy, a little respect, a little decorum. You may think your questions are valid and well intentioned but they are, in fact, completely devoid of sensitivity and good manners. They are ghoulish. My deepest sympathy to the family and friends of this little girl.

The Salina Journal has received a couple of posts saying that some information in this obituary is incorrect. I have looked at what the funeral home sent us, and we printed exactly what they sent us. I have asked that our obituary clerk get in touch with the funeral home Wednesday, March 31, to get all of the information correct. I would ask that you get in touch with the funeral home with any corrections, and we will print them in the paper, at no charge, of course. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

My heartfelt condolences to this family. Losing a child at this age, at ANY age, is simply devastating. To lose her in such a tragic way? My heart breaks for you.
