Officers with the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force made four arrests Tuesday after making two controlled buys of methamphetamine, the task force commander said.

Lt. Jim Norton said the arrests came as the result of a short investigation into a group suspected to be involved in illegal drug activity.

On Sept. 30, a drug buy was arranged at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and North Ninth Street, Norton said. The second buy was made Tuesday in a parking lot in the 1800 block of South Ninth Street.

Wendy D. Walters, 34, 1200 N. 10th, is accused of selling the drug in both controlled buys and faces multiple charges related to those incidents, Norton said.

During the second buy, task force officers witnessed two people delivering drugs to Walters, he said. Rolvie D. Hamilton, 27, 1017 N. Eighth, and Mindy D. Burr, 35, 881 Eastridge, are accused of delivering the drugs to Walters and were arrested on charges related to that.

Sondra J. Kelley, 23, 1326 Lakeview, arrived in the vehicle with Hamilton and Burr, and she was found to have a small amount of meth and drug paraphernalia on her person, Norton said.

Kelley and Burr also face charges in a separate incident, Capt. Mike Sweeney said. The two women are accused of cashing fraudulent checks at all four Dillons stores in Salina between Sept. 26 and 28 for a total loss of more than $2,688.

Sweeney said the checks appeared to be paychecks from a business called Alternative Health Solutions, but the business and bank account the checks were written on do not exist.
