Curtis Watkins was listed in serious condition Monday morning at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, where he was taken following a construction accident Sunday afternoon in eastern Saline County.
Watkins, 59, of Kingman, was helping his son dig a trench for a water line Sunday when his right leg was caught in a trencher, said Capt. Brian Shea of the Saline County Sheriff’s Office. He did not name the son.
Watkins also broke his left arm, Shea said.
The injuries occurred at 2:15 p.m. in the 2700 block of South Donmyer Road. Watkins was working at a home construction site, Shea said.
Watkins was flown by LifeStar air ambulance to the Wichita hospital.
