Jack Leland Campbell Sr.


LARNED — Jack Leland Campbell Sr., 84, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. He was born March 5, 1926, the son of George Marion and Georgia Margaret Hoffman Campbell. He was a resident of rural Pawnee County, and previously resided in Ellsworth. He was a retired remodeling contractor.
He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Ellsworth. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On Sept. 8, 1946, he married Donna Floy Ulrich, in Lyons. She died Feb. 15, 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Jack L. Jr., of Albuquerque, N.M., and Travis, of Parker, Colo.; three daughters, Vickie Kaempfe, of Marion, Carolyn Johnson, of Great Bend, and Lynnette Vondra, of Rush Center; three brothers, Wayne, of Great Bend, George, of Lyons, and Marvin, of Little River; six sisters, Joyce Enlow, of Lyons, Phyllis Caffingham and Betty Jo Birka, both of Little River, Velma Mae Harts, of Hutchinson, Margaret Lou Morgart, of Sterling, and Bernice Keener, of Salina; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; three brothers, Donald, Kenneth and Charles; an infant sister, Imogene; and a grandson, Ryan.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Morell Funeral Home, Larned. Friends may sign a register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, and Wednesday, July 21, at the funeral home.
