Walk-in advance voting for the Nov. 2 general election begins Wednesday at the Saline County Clerk’s office, which is located in Room 215 of the City-County Building.

The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Saline County Clerk’s office also will begin mailing advance ballots Wednesday to people who have requested them.

Voters may call the clerk’s office, 309-5820, to request an application to receive an advance ballot, or they may download an application from the county’s website, saline.org, by clicking on the “elections” tab at the left side of the screen. In each case, the form must be signed and submitted in person or by mail to the clerk’s office.

The deadline for the clerk’s office to mail advance ballots is Oct. 29, according to Don Merriman, county clerk. Completed ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 2. In-person advance voting ends at noon Nov. 1.

Eligible voters have until 9 p.m. Monday to register to vote, change party affiliation or make other registration changes. The clerk’s office will be open until 9 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Monday to accommodate people who wish to vote or make registration changes.
