For each audition, students were required to perform music they had prepared in advance. Instrumental students were also required to perform scales and sight-read. Congratulations to the following Smoky Valley High School Musicians for being selected for the KMEA South Central District Honor Groups: Band Sarah Gross, flute Nickolas Carlson, clarinet Rachel Bellah, alto saxophone Meghan Klaassen, trombone Paul Masterson, trombone Eric Swenson, tuba Sara Anderson, mallets Brandon Carlson, percussion Choir Katie Esh, soprano Annika Schneider, soprano Kirsten Hansen, alto Emily Nelson, alto Dixon Olson, tenor John DeWitt, tenor Samuel Klaassen, tenor Jacob Berggren, bass Orchestra Lars Berggren, violin Anders Berggren, violin The next stop for these students is on Saturday, December 1st,, at Wichita State University, where they will spend a full day rehearsing with their honor groups and end the day with a concert.
