CONCORDIA -- Donald Dean Demanett, 76, Concordia, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Cloud County Health Center. He was born May 14, 1931, to Charles and Rosa (Bliss) Demanett in rural Aurora, KS. He delivered bread for Gillan's Krispy Crust Bakery, Holsum Bakery and Rainbow Bakery. He retired in 1994, after 37 years.

He married Neva Forshee on April 18, 1950, in Concordia.

His pride and joy was coaching the "Episcopal Baseball" team for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Neva, of the home; his children: Dennis and wife Sue Demanett of Monrovia, CA, Steve and wife Linda Demanett of Dorset, OH, Deanna and husband Tom Giles of Linn, and Bob and wife Roxanna Demanett of Concordia; a brother, Floyd Demanett of Wichita; five sisters, Buelah Nobert of Concordia, Margaret Swaim of Morganville, Dorothy Woelhoef of Clay Center; Mildred Burns of Topeka and Ruth Budd of Lancaster, CA; and her grandchildren, Rudy Demanett, Steven Demanett and wife Claudia, Luke Demanett, Christine Demanett, Katie Demanett, Alex Hoffman and wife Lisa, Nicole Cooper, Jace Demanett, Christy Demanett and Danielle Demanett; and her great-grandchildren, Haley and Dillon Cooper, Garrett and Magalena Peters, Derek Hoffman, and Hunter and Arista Demanett.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 8th and Lincoln, Concordia, KS, with Pastor Dean Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Nelson Center Cemetery, rural Concordia.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nutter Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or Concordia Sports Complex.
