Robert R. "Bob" Aills
Robert Richard Aills, 55, Salina, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in Wichita. He was born Sept. 21, 1952, in Wamego.
Bob was twice past commander of Salina VFW Post No. 1432 and a Vietnam War Army veteran serving in Phuloi, Vietnam. He was a member of Ray Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester R. Aills; brother, Lester Lee Aills; and sister, Carla Jean Aills.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, of the home; mother, Betty Aills, Salina; son, Jacob Lester Aills, Salina; daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Aills, Salina; sister, Connie J. Wilson, Salina; and grandchildren, Gavin Robert Aills, Mikaylee Erin Aills and Garrett Carson Aills.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, where family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Ryan Mortuary, Salina.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008, at the mortuary. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, with military honors by U.S. Army, Fort Riley.

JEWELL -- Wanda P. Bartsch, 82, Jewell, died Thursday, July 24, 2008.

Gerald E. Bergeson
Gerald E. Bergeson, 69, Salina, formerly of Jamestown, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina. He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Concordia to Joe E. Bergeson and Eva M. Nelson.
He graduated from Jamestown High School. He married Anna Jeanette Andersen on Dec. 5, 1958, in Formoso. He was a lifelong Jamestown area resident and farmer until retiring and moving to Salina in January 2004. He was a member of the Baptist church, ELKS Lodge, and Moose Lodge No. 1428, all of Concordia. He also was a member of the board of directors of NCK Production Credit Association and Jamestown Co-op Elevator. He was an avid hunter and bowler and coached Pee-Wee and Babe Ruth baseball.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Jeanette, Salina; sons, Brett W. and wife Jeri Ann, Salina, and Bryan W. and wife Shirley, Mora, MO; daughter, A. Christine Seaton and husband Robert, Wichita; mother, Eva M., Jamestown; brothers, Bill and wife Karen, Salina, and Darrell and wife Betty, Springfield, MO; and grandchildren, Britt Nicole Runft, Cody Seth Runft, Luke Christopher Seaton, Emily Dawn Bergeson, Jacob Michael Bergeson, Zachary Dale Bergeson, Kyle James Bergeson, Bradley James Bergeson, Blaire Joelle Bergeson and Benjamin John Bergeson.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, where family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Kevin Hazelton officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery, southwest of Concordia.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, in care of the funeral home.

Wayne L. Bogart
WICHITA -- Wayne L. Bogart, 80, retired postal worker, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. He was born April 4, 1928, in Gypsum to Calvin and Laura Bogart. He was the youngest of eight children. He was married to Hazel Isaacson on Sept. 3, 1950. She survives him, along with their three children, Doug and wife Earlene, Dale and wife Yvonne, and Darla Abernathy; grandchildren, Jenni and husband Brad, Trina, Lee, Nathan, Shellby and Tyler; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. A memorial has been established with Mount Vernon UMC, 5701 E. Mount Vernon, Wichita, KS 67218, in care of Broadway Mortuary, Wichita.
Maxine Brown
PHILLIPSBURG -- Maxine Brown, 86, Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. She was born May 6, 1922, to Everett and Angie Gates. She was preceded in death by one son and two daughters. Survivors include her three sons, Charlie, Phillipsburg, Dennie, Norton, and Steve, Hays; one brother, Lester Gates, Goodland; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with Pastor Joel Hiesterman officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Logan. Memorial contributions may be given to Phillips County Hospital Long Term Care or KSU Center for Basic Cancer Research, in care of the chapel.

RUSSELL -- Lloyd Davis, 88, Russell, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Delphia Davis; five brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of the home; daughter, Ruth Ann and husband Art Hutson, Boise, ID; two sons, Ron and wife Marilyn, Russell, and Jim and wife Lois, Olathe; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Ruth E. Davis
FLORENCE -- Ruth E. Davis, 95, formerly of Florence, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Legacy Park Care Home, Peabody.
She was born Oct. 8, 1912, in rural Florence. She was the daughter of Luther M. and Susan (Kennard) Brooks.
In 1932, she was married to Elmer Davis. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1987.
She is survived by her daughter, Naomi Brenzikofer, and two grandchildren, Wanda Myers and Debra Hanson, all of Emporia.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Florence. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Luella Eller
BELOIT -- Luella Eller, 98, Beloit, died Thursday, July 24, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor George Eller, in 1980.
Survivors include one son, Dr. Gordon Eller, Cape Girardeau, MO; three daughters, Janet Specht, Ruth Bell and Joann Norris, all of Beloit; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m., at McDonald-Roberts Funeral Home, Beloit.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Dwight Paschal
MISSION HILLS, Calif. -- Dwight Paschal, 83, died Sunday, June 22, 2008. He was born in Luray, KS, to Clyde and Blanche Paschal. He was a World War II Navy veteran on the USS North Caroline. It was the most decorated ship of war, with 15 battle stars, serving in the Pacific. He attended the University of Kansas, and was an estimator for general dynamics for many years. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Yvonne and Irene. Survivors include his wife, Coco; son, Chris; brother, Vance, Bullhead City; sister, Wilmette Holland, Harper; and twin brother, Darrell Jim Paschal, Lindsborg, KS. The funeral was July 8, 2008, at Church of St. Vincent De Paul, San Diego, where the Rev. Monsignor Dennis R. Clark officiated. Balboa Funeral Service, San Diego, handled arrangements.
Martha J. Schmitt
BELOIT -- Martha J. Schmitt, 85, Beloit, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1964.
Survivors include three daughters, Margaret Ann McClintock, Yukon, OK, Betty Linton and Kathy File, Beloit; brother, Joe Schmitt, Beloit; sister, Louise Nelson, Beloit; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Roberts Funeral Home, Beloit. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church, Beloit.
