Assaria man hurt in crash with semi
MARION -- An Assaria man was injured near Marion on Friday morning when his pickup truck was struck by a semitrailer.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Troy Farmer, 41, was driving his truck toward the junction of U.S. Highway 56 and U.S. Highway 77 just east of Marion about 9 a.m. when a semi driven by Lance McWhirter, 25, of Slater, Mo., passed a car stopped at a stop sign at the intersection, ran the stop sign and collided with Farmer's truck.
Farmer was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in Marion; his condition was not available Friday evening.
