A Salina woman was cited for inattentive driving Tuesday morning after striking a pickup involved in an earlier collision and pushing it into an air conditioning unit at Sterling House, 2251 E. Crawford.

According to a Salina Police Department report, Garnet R. Gilmore, 47, 815 Park, parked a pickup truck on the south side of East Crawford Street, near Marymount Road, about 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, after the pickup collided with a car driven by Jason A. Thompson, 21, 2130 E. Crawford No. 321. The pickup truck was left running, with the hazard lights flashing.

Minutes later, Danielle E. Jensen, 20, Brookville, was driving a pickup truck east on East Crawford Street when the pickup hit the Gilmore pickup from behind, pushing it through an empty lot and into the air conditioning unit.

According to the police report, only the metal cover on the air conditioning unit was damaged.

Jensen was cited for inattentive driving.

Gilmore was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way in the initial collision, according to the report.
