Theater gives more to Red Cross

People attending performances of “A Chorus Line” this past weekend donated nearly $2,300 to the Red Cross.

Michael Spicer, executive director of Salina Community Theatre, said the theater presented a check for $5,300 last week to the North Central Kansas Chapter of the American Red Cross. That money was raised through a benefit performance of, “A Chorus Line,” and from audience members prior to this past weekend.

Cast members passed a hat after the weekend shows and raised the additional money, bringing the theater’s total donation to $7,580.

The money will go toward recovery from the June 11 tornadoes that hit Salina and Chapman.
