GOODLAND -- A pickup loaded with three teens and an adult ran into a herd of cattle in Sherman County Saturday night, sending the driver to a hospital.
Shayla Marie Matthews, 17, Goodland, was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup south on County Road 15 around 10:30 p.m. Passengers were Eric A. Reyna, 19, Goodland; Spencer M. Windell, 18, Kanorado; and Anthony L. Garza, 36, Goodland.
When she was about 6.5 miles north of Goodland she encountered the cattle. She hit one, killing it. She was injured and taken to Goodland Regional Medical Center.
The hospital refused to provide information on her condition.
