A Salina man who was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of rape now also faces charges of identity theft and forgery.
Juan Cortez-Rios, 29, 1403 W. Republic, was found to have a fake Social Security card bearing the name Philip Sandoval, and an investigation determined that Cortez-Rios used the name Sandoval when he received four traffic citations and was involved in three crashes dating back to 2001, said Capt. Mike Sweeney of the Salina Police Department.
Cortez-Rios faces two counts of identity theft and eight counts of forgery. He faces charges of rape and disorderly conduct for allegedly raping a 25-year-old Salina woman early Tuesday.
