A Salina woman accused of submitting more than 35 fraudulent claims to her health insurance company totalling more than $25,000 pleaded guilty in Saline County District Court Monday to felony theft by deception.
Cindy L. Chambers, 46, 160 Bel Air, is scheduled for sentencing at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 6. She faces a possible prison sentence of 11 to 34 months in addition to court-ordered restitution to Caremark Corp.
Chambers was arrested in June 2007 for creating false receipts for medications in her name and the names of her two children and submitting them to her health insurance company for reimbursement. The incidents occurred over a three year period. She was employed at Jim’s Pharmacy at the time.
