Giang Ta, 217 W. Cloud Apt. C, was injured this morning when the bicycle he was riding on South Ninth Street was hit by a car.

Ta, 37, who was apparently not wearing a safety helmet, suffered a cut to his forehead, said Salina Police Lt. Scott Siemsen. Ta was taken to Salina Regional Health Center.

The hospital reported that Ta was taken later Friday morning to one of the Via Christi Regional Medical Center campuses in Wichita, where he was reported to be in good condition Friday afternoon.

He was riding northbound at 6 a.m. on the right side of the outside lane, near Market Street, when the car struck the back of the bicycle. Ta was knocked over and hit his head.

The car’s driver, Ray Copple, 39, 1321 Louise, was ticketed for inattentive driving, Siemsen said.
