Print this story SYLVAN GROVE -- A teenager was hospitalized after the car he was riding in crashed on a country road in Lincoln County early Thursday morning. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Douglas S. Patterson, 18, Sylvan Grove, was riding in a 1998 Buick Regal driven by Tyler A. Gier, 18, also of Sylvan Grove. They were traveling west on Union Road around 2:25 a.m. when Gier lost control of the car and it crossed into the south ditch, spun and hit a hedge tree. Patterson was taken to Mitchell County Hospital. Neither was wearing a seat belt. The crash occurred about 11 miles north and three miles east of Sylvan Grove. |
