Hutchinson toddler hurt in crash

ELLSWORTH -- A Hutchinson toddler was in serious condition Saturday night after a car and pickup truck crashed south of here.

Olivia Oller, 2, was in a child booster seat in a car driven by Wendy J. Oller, 25, Hutchinson, They were taken to Ellsworth County Medical Center. Olivia was later flown by air ambulance to Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis campus.

Four-week-old Cooper Oller was in an infant seat and was not injured, but he rode with his mother to the Ellsworth hospital, according to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol. Wendy Oller's condition was not released.

The driver of the pickup truck, Patrick D. McCormick, 24, Great Bend, was taken to the Ellsworth hospital with possible injuries. His condition also was not released.

The patrol reported that Oller was southbound at 7 p.m. in the car on Kansas Highway 14 and stopped at a stop sign, then entered Kansas Highway 156, colliding with the truck that was eastbound on K-156. Wendy Oller and McCormick were wearing seat belts.
