n On Sunday, the churches of Glen Elder once again will present "Journey to Bethlehem," a live re-enactment of what it might have been like at the time of Christ's birth. The event is sponsored by Glen Elder Friends Church, Christian Church and United Methodist Church. The pageant incorporates live animals along with children, teens and adults. Through the use of narration and music, the "Journey" brings to life the scriptural account of the events of and leading up to the birth of Christ. An open trailer will be available to transport those who prefer to ride. A soup supper will follow, with chili, vegetable soup, chicken noodle soup and drinks provided by the three churches. Those who plan to attend the supper are asked to bring sandwiches, snacks or desserts for the meal. The event is free and open to the public.

Area churches present this event, and all work is done by volunteers. There is no admission charge, but an offering will be taken at the end of the pilgrimage, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. In case of rain, the event will be canceled.
