nBrookville United Methodist Church will have its annual pancake feed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Brookville City Hall. Pancakes, sausage, eggs and homemade pie will be served. There also will be a bake table. Proceeds go to the youth group.

n The choir of Trinity Lutheran Church, Ninth and Crawford, will present a cantata at the morning services Sunday. The cantata is "You are the Christ" by composer Joseph Martin. Director for the local cantata is Evalyn Berndt, and accompanist is Angie Pruter. James Hames will be the narrator. Morning services are at 8:30 and 11. For more information, call 823-7151. The performance is free, and the public is welcome.

n The public is invited to hear The Lesters, often called the "first family of gospel music," at 3 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal. An offering will be received. The Lesters consist of Brian Lester, who has been singing with the group since he was 3; his sister, Ginger Pitchers, also a lifelong performer; Brian's son, Jonathan Lester; and Ginger's daughter, Jenny Revelle.

n The annual covered dish meal and reunion of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church of rural Mentor will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 Magnolia. All former members, pastors and friends are welcome. Please bring your own table service; coffee and tea will be provided.

n "Maintaining Joy in the Routine of Everyday Motherhood" will be the topic of speaker Sheryl Miller's presentation at April's Mothers' Hour meeting from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at First Covenant Church, 2625 E. Magnolia. Miller and her husband, Leo, lived in Salina for eight years before moving to Ellsworth. They have two children and three grandchildren. Miller is best known for her ministry to women and children. She has been a children's director, training teachers as well as teaching children of all ages. She and Leo serve together as Life Skills coordinators at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility in Ellsworth. Mothers' Hour is an inter-denominational ministry whose purpose is to give encouragement to women and parents of preschool and school-age children. There are supervised nurseries for infants and teaching activities for toddlers through 6-year-olds. Both the program and the child care are free. For more information, call Coleen at 825-8340.

n Kansas native and Nashville resident Kyle Cooper will be the special guest at the Teens for Christ Road Rally at 7 p.m. April 6 at Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Red Cloud, Neb. Cooper was reared in western Kansas and is the son of longtime singer Roger Cooper.
