Print this story HERINGTON — Jesse Wray, 9, Herington, was in fair condition Tuesday morning at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City. He was fishing July 2 at Herington City Lake when a pickup went out of control and struck him, knocking him into the lake. Jesse was pulled from the lake and flown to the Kansas City Hospital, “in a life threatening condition,” according to a release from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office. The pickup driver, Justin Morris, 23, Fort Riley, was arrested and booked into the Dickinson County Jail, Abilene, on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving, the release read.
