Interested in Salina arts & culture? Artspace Inc. public meeting
You are invited to attend a presentation and discussion about potential for artist live/work space with staff from Artspace, Inc. in a public meeting starting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 1st, at Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Development Center. I encourage you to attend if you're interested in care of artists and arts and culture or in re-imagining Salina's industrial/commercial core. Please let someone else know who may be interested.
As the nation's leading nonprofit real estate developer for the arts, Artspace has a mission to create, foster and preserve affordable space for artists and arts organizations. The purpose of their visit to Salina is to evaluate the potential to create a project where artists can live and work affordably and arts/cultural organizations can thrive.
SDI, Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Salina have collaborated to bring Artspace to Salina to examine whether our city and cultural scene can foster artistic and economic growth through development of downtown properties for artist live/work spaces. This visit is purely an assessment of Salina's potential. The 7 p.m. meeting will start with an overview of what Artspace does across the country. Artspace will provide its findings and recommend next steps in a report to the City of Salina.
Thanks ,
