May flowers won’t erase the Feb. 24 arson at the Peony Patch, but owner Dave Rettele figures a little color beats ashes.
Fire at the gardening business at 1740 Beverly, which produces flowers and vegetables, destroyed a storage shed and two insulated refrigerator vans and their contents, and severely damaged a vacant house.
Rettele said Salina police are still looking the person who set the fire.
“As I understand, they have some suspects who may or may not have alibis,” Rettele said. “I’m still numb about it.”
Deputy Salina Police Chief Carson Mansfield said Thursday there have been no arrests.
