Four Salinans were arrested Monday afternoon in connection with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and other drug offenses.
The I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force acted on a tip Monday morning that people were buying pseudo-ephedrine, a key ingredient in making meth. The task force went to 1603 Beverly, the residence of Wanda J. Eaton, 45, and Steven C. Bunting, 49 and received consent to search, said Lt. Jim Norton, the task force commander. Drug paraphernalia and meth residue were found, he said, along with glassware, possible liquid chemicals and coffee filters.
Eaton and Bunting confirmed a conspiracy between themselves and Mark Kennedy, 48, 211 E. Pacific, Room 3 at the Starlite Motel. Eaton and Bunting were purchasing the cold pills and giving them to Kennedy, who used them to make meth, and Kennedy was paying them with meth, Norton said.
Kennedy, Eaton and Bunting face charges of conspiracy to manufacture meth, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Kennedy also was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Ellis County, Norton said.
Terri Lynn Kennedy, 47, also living in Room 3 at the Starlite, faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Norton said.
