Poetry and prose writers invited to share work

Local and regional writers of poetry and prose are invited to share their work at the quarterly Open Microphone for Writers from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Salina Public Library's Community Learning Center, 308 W. Elm. Listeners also are welcome.

Writers of original poems, fiction, plays or nonfiction may sign up to share five to 10 minutes of their work on a first-come, first-served basis when doors open at 6:45 p.m. There will be a limit of 15 writers.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the community learning program at the library.
