Barton Co EMT Course

Barton Community College will offer an Emergency Medical Training course this fall at Salina Fire Department Station No. 3.

The class will meet from 6 to 10 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Aug. 19 through Dec. 12.

Students will learn how to handle traumatic, medical and psychological emergencies in the pre-hospital setting. They will receive 12 credit hours, which include eight hours of emergency medical training, one hour of training in EMT-Defibrillation, one hour of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and two hours of hazardous materials training. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible for state certification as emergency medical technicians.
