Assaria man injured in crash with semi

MARION — An Assaria man was injured near Marion Friday morning when his pickup truck was struck by a semitrailer.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Troy Farmer, 41, was driving his pickup toward the junction of U.S. Highway 56 and U.S. Highway 77 just east of Marion about 9 a.m., when a semi driven by Lance McWhirter, 25, of Slater, Mo., passed a car stopped at a stop sign at the intersection, ran the stop sign and collided with Farmer’s truck.
Farmer was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Marion; his condition was not available Friday evening.
