High fuel prices have reduced general aviation and military flights at the Salina Municipal Airport, which in turn has crunched the Salina Airport Authority’s income.
The authority board Wednesday morning approved amendments to the budget to reflect a drop in revenue from fuel sales. In June, 319,814 gallons of fuel was dispensed at the airport, compared to 433,448 gallons during June 2007.
“We are looking at items and activity we can curtail and delete to realize savings on the expense side. We’ll take a look at overtime and some training activities,” said Tim Rogers, airport authority executive director.
