Business seminar planned

Business seminar planned

Kansas Secretary of Commerce Dave Kerr will be the keynote speaker for a workshop Tuesday for business owners and human resource professionals.

The workshop will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Kansas State University at Salina. The registration fee of $10 includes lunch and parking. Walk-ins are welcome.

Kerr will speak about current and future business trends and the role of the Kansas Department of Commerce.

Other topics to be covered include what to do when your commuting employees are paying $5 a gallon for gas; tips for success from local businesses; legislative issues affecting Kansas businesses; leveraging existing and new resources; tools for financing growth and expansion; trends in economic workforce development; unique solutions to employee training; and strategies for business growth and expansion.
