ABILENE -- A poker run and other events are planned for May 31 to raise money for medical expenses incurred by Sonia Roe, who has been diagnosed with liver and colon cancer.
Roe is undergoing chemotherapy in Wichita.
Registration for the 110-mile poker run is 11 a.m., and riders will leave at noon from the Abilene Fraternal Order of Eagles, 207 Eagle.
The route includes stops in Longford, Clay Center, Milford and Detroit. Cash prizes will be awarded at 5 p.m. to high and low poker hands.
A meal will be served at 5 p.m., followed by raffle drawings, an auction at 8 and a dance from 9 to 1 a.m.

If I was diagnosed with cancer, I would contact one of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America's physicians. They have centers in Tulsa OK and Zion IL that offer wholistic as well as allopathic care.
