Print this story SHARON MONTAGUE A five-month investigation into crack cocaine distribution has led to the arrests of three people and seizure of a substantial amount of cocaine. Lt. Jim Norton said a confidential informant bought crack cocaine a total of nine times from three different people over the course of the investigation. Earlier this month, officers searched two Salina homes and a home in Wichita. About 50 grams of crack cocaine — a rock the size of a baseball — was found in the Wichita apartment, Norton said, and smaller amounts of crack and marijuana were found in the Salina apartments. About $900 in cash also was found. Arrested were: Oliver W. Bradwell, 44, 2660 Highland No. 8; Gary L. Jones, 55, 2660 Highland No. 5; and Jennifer L. Padgette, 36, 2663 Chapel Ridge. Norton said federal charges are being contemplated against the three. Michelle McClanahan, 32, 2621 E. Key, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia after she showed up at one of the apartments while police were searching. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office assisted the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force in the investigation.
