The Salina Public Library is sponsoring a two-day Halo 3 video game tournament Memorial Day weekend.
The tournament is scheduled to begin at noon May 24-25 in the library's Community Learning Center, 308 W. Elm, because the library is closed on Sunday.
The tournament will consist of 16, four-person teams playing in a double-elimination format. They will play at MLG settings. Players can provide their Xbox live gamertag for ranking using bungie.net, but this is not required. Prizes will be awarded.
The tournament is open to players in sixth grade through college. They can register at www.salpublib.org/gaming/. Teams must sign in and be present at noon the day of the tournament or a team from the waiting list will be given that spot. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
