Friday field day to focus on soils

A Central Kansas Extension District 3 soil management field day will be from 8 to 11 a.m. today on the Ritchie Tarn farm in eastern Saline County.

Kansas State University Extension specialists DeAnn Presley and Kraig Roozeboom will discuss the development of improved soil under reduced and no-till cropping systems and how to capture more water through crop residue management.

There is no registration fee. Bring a lawn chair.

The field is eight miles east of Salina on Magnolia Road and three-eighths of a mile north on Kipp Road.
