Print this story Attorney Mike Sheahon suspended Salinan attorney Michael Sheahon has been indefinitely suspended from practicing law in Kansas, the Kansas Supreme Court decided in an opinion handed down Friday. In late 2004, Sheahon was indicted in federal court on four counts of failing to file federal income tax returns. In August 2005, he pleaded guilty to one count, and the remaining three were dismissed; later that same year, he was sentenced to three years probation, and ordered to file federal and state tax returns from then on. A panel of the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys had recommended that Sheahon be suspended for a year, but a majority of the justices decided the stronger indefinite suspension was warranted, noting that Sheahon did not appear for a hearing before the Supreme Court on his discipline. Man arrested on 15 counts of rape Salina police arrested a 36-year-old man Thursday for alleged inappropriate contact with a teenage girl. The contact occurred from March until May of this year, said Carson Mansfield, Salina Police Department deputy chief. Arrested was Rustin J. Petty, Salina, who was booked into the Saline County Jail on 15 counts of rape and two counts of aggravated sodomy.
