Parenting advice that goes to the dogs
We parents talk. A lot. In our defense, we need to — we are called to. We have the most important occupation in the world — teaching our offspring. This awesome and wonderful job often demands language — teaching what baby’s toes are called, how to ask for a drink and explaining colors. For our children to become masters of our language, they must be “bathed” in it — they must listen to us speak it to them clearly and often.
Salina disputes DNA test
To Angie Cartwright and her four children, their family dog, Lucey, is a friendly four-legged pet with a repertoire of tricks, such as scrambling across the room on her hind legs for a treat. Five months ago, Cartwright thought a DNA test had saved Lucey, who looks like a pit bull, after she ran afoul of the city's breed ban. Since 2005, Salina has had a ban on owning unregistered pit bulls and mixed breeds that are predominately pit bull.
