Public invited to help record bird numbers

The 15th annual Great Backyard Bird Count, sponsored by the Audubon Society and The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, is Feb. 18.

Members of Smoky Hills Audubon Society will meet from 8 a.m. to noon at Lakewood Discovery Center, 250 Lakewood Drive. Participants will record all seen species of birds.

People of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate for a short time or the entire four hours, viewing feeders or walking trails.
