Vella Ruth Sipel, 62, of Salina, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. She was born July. 1, 1949, in Salina to Sheldon and Ruth (Wakefield) Turner. Vella was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest Turner.
She was a member of Salina Heights Christian Church. She love quilting and roller-skating.
Vella is survived by her son, Darren Sippel, of Assaria; daughter, Trena Hoppock and husband Marty, of Salina; brother, Clarence Turner and wife Vivian, of Catati, Calif.; two sisters, Edythe Tisdale and husband Walt, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Lola Nelson and husband Barry of Salina; and five grandchildren.
Celebration of life service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Salina Heights Christian Church. Donations can be made to Hospice of Salina, and may be sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth St., Salina.
