RUSSELL - LaVerta Ann Longnecker, 79, of Russell, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. She was born July 18, 1932, to Pete Jr. and Anna E. (Herdt) Schneider. She was preceded by her parents; her spouse, Robert; and brothers, Earlin, Harold and Archie Schneider. She is survived by her brothers, Pete (Mary) Schneider, of Wilson, and LeRoy (Nema) Schneider, of Jamestown; and a sister, LaVera Fields, of Kimball, Neb. There will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 9, at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Russell, with Pastor Roger Dennis officiating. Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell, is in charge of the funeral service arrangements.
