HILLSBORO -- Linda Funk, 97, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009. She was born June 3, 1912, in Hillsboro to Ferd and Susie (Doering) Janzen. Preceded in death: husband, Jacob; daughter, Ruth Ann Thieszen; and brother, Herman Janzen. Survivors: sons, Donald Nelson (Marsha), of Lincolnton, N.C., and Roger (Joan), of Lake Zurich, Ill.; sister, Violet Bartel, of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Burial: 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, in Haven of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, followed by services at 11 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro. Memorials: World Impact or Door of Hope.
