RUSSELL — Elma L. DeWald, 89, of Salina, formerly of Russell, died Nov. 6, 2009. Survivors: daughters, Julia Sitz (Ernest), Charlotte Wilson (James) and Margaret Vosburg (Kelly); sons, Richard (Pat) and Stephen (significant other, Shilah); a brother; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Doran; daughter, Linda Austin; infant son, Thomas; and two brothers and infant, Lewis. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, Russell, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Celebration of Life: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Russell. Memorials: the Hospice of Kansas.
