William H. Avery Sr.

WAKEFIELD — William H. “Bill” Avery Sr., 98, of Wakefield, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009. He was born Aug. 11, 1911, in Clay County to Herman and Hattie Avery. Preceded in death by: wife, Hazel. Survivors: sons, William Jr. (Alice), of Indianapolis, and Brad (Sharon), of Topeka; daughters, Barbara Avery, of New Orleans, and Sue Avery, of Winchester, Mass.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wakefield United Methodist Church. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the church.
