KBI, police officers testify at battery trial
Jurors heard testimony Friday from Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Salina Police Department officers as the prosecution wrapped up its aggravated battery case against Steven H. Weis Jr.
The trial is set to resume Monday in Saline County District Court with the defense presenting its evidence.
Weis, 25, of Brookville, is accused of one count of intentional aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, two counts of aggravated battery causing bodily harm and one count of criminal use of a weapon in a confrontation that occurred July 13, 2008, in the 800 block of Sherman Street.
He is accused of stabbing Anthony Napoleone, who remains paralyzed from the chest down with the tip of a knife embedded in his spine.
