WaKeeney man injured in rollover

OGALLAH -- Nolan Gregory Smith, 19, of WaKeeney, was injured Friday morning in a rollover crash four miles south of Ogallah.

Smith was taken to Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital. His condition was unavailable Friday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Smith was southbound at 6:50 a.m. on Kansas Highway 147 when the car he was driving left the right side of the highway, then crossed both lanes and entered the east ditch. From there, the car hit an electric pole, took out eight fence posts, hit a cow, made a half-turn and rolled onto its top, facing north.

Smith was wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP report.
