Brookville woman wins teaching award

Kate Armstrong, of Brookville, was selected by  Fort Hays State University to receive the "Teacher of Promise" award from the Kansas State Department of Education.
She received the award during the annual Kansas Teacher of the Year banquet Nov. 19 in Wichita.
Kansas colleges and universities may each nominate two student teachers for the award. Armstrong is a 2009 graduate of Ell-Saline High School and is a junior at Fort Hays State majoring in industrial technology education.
