Sport card, stamp collections stolen

A collection of sports cards, a stamp collection and other items valued at more than $5,000 were stolen between Sunday and Monday from a Salina storage unit.

About 15,000 football, baseball and basketball cards valued at $3,000 and a stamp collection valued at $2,000 were among items Richard Linaweaver reported being stolen between 5 p.m. Sunday and 4:45 p.m. Monday from a storage unit at 608 N. Seventh, said Lt. Scott Siemsen, criminal investigation commander with the Salina Police Department.

Also taken were miscellaneous hand tools, a 27-inch television and an Atari game system, Siemsen said.

Total loss, including a lock that was cut off, was estimated at $5,440.

Police ask that anyone with information about the burglary call Crimestoppers at 825-TIPS, text SATIPS to CRIMES (274637), or visit pd.salina.org and follow the Crimestoppers link to submit a Web tip. Tipsters may receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 and are not required to give their name.
