Woman stabbed during argument

A 24-year-old woman was taken to Salina Regional Medical Center with a stab wound to her abdomen Saturday evening after a dispute with her boyfriend, according to Salina police.

The boyfriend, who is 18, was taken into custody, said Capt. Mike Sweeney. Names of the individuals were not being released Saturday night.

The two were reportedly in a vehicle that stopped near Kirwin and Ohio, Sweeney said. Eyewitnesses said the woman got out of the car and hit the car with a baseball bat. She then got back in and the two went to 824 Kirwin.

The altercation resumed there, and when the woman tried to leave her boyfriend stabbed her, Sweeney said.

Her condition was not available at presstime. Sweeney said she was alert and verbal when police interviewed her at the hospital.
