Suspected shoplifter arrested

A Clyde man was arrested on a shoplifting charge Wednesday evening after a Dillard’s employee and a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper stopped him near the intersection of Broadway and South Ninth streets.
Harold G. Mildrexler, 61, is accused of taking two women’s tops, two skirts and a pair of black high heel shoes valued at $167 from the Central Mall store, 2259 S. Ninth, at 7:15 p.m.
Salina Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield said Mildrexler was first stopped in the store parking lot by an employee as he approached a truck. He threw the items on the ground, and the truck left without him, Mansfield said.
Mildrexler took off on foot, and the employee followed, Mansfield said.
Mildrexler was arrested on misdemeanor charges of theft and obstructing official duty.

I bet that guy felt like a real piece of crap once the truck took off and he had to take off on foot. If I would have seen all of that go down, I'd be laughing it up. Sorry 'bout your luck, pal.
