A Salina woman’s car was found in southeastern Nebraska Sunday after it was allegedly stolen by a 16-year-old who ran away from home.
Lt. Scott Siemsen, criminal investigation commander with the Salina Police Department, said Falls City, Neb. police found a 1993 Saturn belonging to Andrea Pfeifer, 45, that was taken between 2 a.m. and 1 p.m. from the 500 block of West Jewell Avenue.
A spokesman with Falls City police department said police found the vehicle and 16-year-old at a home in Falls City. He said the boy was turned over to TFI Family Services Inc, out of Topeka. He said the Falls City police wouldn’t release the boy’s name since he is a juvenile.
Siemsen said he couldn’t release the boy’s name since charges haven’t been filed in Salina against the boy, who’s been charged with possession of stolen property in Falls City.
Siemsen said he was not sure how the boy took the car since Pfeifer didn’t know the boy and was not missing any car keys.
